L'Arche House
Taking advantage of the natural grade, the home was designed with two stories facing the street, and one story facing the rear, with primary entries on both levels. The main living areas and resident bedrooms are on the upper floor, while administrative functions, storage, additional bedrooms, and a recreation space are housed on the lower level. The floors are connected by both stairs and an elevator inside, and by ramping walkways outside. The center core of the house is a large, light-filled gathering room on the upper floor, from which other public spaces and private corridors radiate.
Through the shared efforts of all of the development team members, the project is very successful in meeting the programmatic goals set forth for it. The home and its site present a warm and inviting streetscape that complements the existing traditional neighborhood, while providing a safe and stimulating environment for its residents in a setting of comfort and dignity.

Truck Enterprises
Located at the intersection of US Routes 29 and 460, the new one story facility is the center of Truck Enterprises’ Central Virginia operations housing dealership and service for new Kenworth and Volvo heavy trucks as well as used truck sales, parts supply, and service. A pre-engineered metal building structure was selected for the approximately 7,000 sqft parts warehouse/distribution center and the 20,000 sqft, 16 bay maintenance and service area. These spaces required high volume, yet open construction, to allow a large bridge crane located the full length of the maintenance shop access to all 16 bays. The 6,000 sqft “L” shaped administration and business offices along with the retail structural frame system enclosed with an integral color masonry veneer and metal stud wall system. Vibrant, 3’ square pre-finished metal panels were used for architectural fenestration at canopies and entrances. The construction choices chosen by CCAP allowed for the project to be designed and constructed in a 16 month time frame and within a constrained $3.75 million dollar total project budget.

Virginia's Heartland Office Building
This 4,400 square foot building scheduled to be complete in May of 2006, will house the Partnership’s Director, marketing, classroom and conference spaces, a high-tech digital broad band service hub, as well as office suits to be used by future tenants of the industrial park.
The exterior design of the structure is modern while evoking a sense of more traditional buildings found in the heartland of Virginia. The multi-sloped galvanized roof acts as a beacon to travelers along State Route 360 while the hunter green metal board and batten siding and dry stack stone are reminiscent of agricultural structures. Using large windows and multifaceted building faces, the overall perceived scale of the building is much less than the true scale. As soon as a visitor arrives at the front door, they are presented with a high tech lobby and reception area. The high tech theme is not only esthetic, but the building complete with broad band communications, and digital presentation equipment.

University Gateway Center
Following the completion of Craddock Cunningham Architectural Partner’s 2003 Master Plan for the 14 acre University Mall site, CCAP was interviewed and selected to provide architectural and engineering services for the Phase I Building. This initial implementation of the Master Plan is sited at the most prominent corner of the site, one of the busiest intersections in Blacksburg. The 80,000 s.f building is to house all of the combined offices for the Virginia Tech Foundation and University Development as well as a branch facility for BB&T Bank. Additional square footage is being planned as shelled tenant space for restaurant, retail, and office use.
